Basics of Roulette

In the game of roulette, your goal is to correctly guess to which spot the ball will land following each spin. You need to place your guess on the appropriate square or squares and depending on where you place the chip that will also represent your bet for a particular game.

Type of Bets

Straight Up bet is one that you place on a single number with the payout odds of 35 to 1. The second type of bet is called the Split Bet, wherein you place your bets on two numbers on the roulette table. It will improve your winning odds at 17 to 1.

The third type of roulette betting strategy is called Street Bet, wherein you can place your bets on up to 3 numbers to further improving your winning odds at 11 to 1. The fourth type of bet you can play in roulette is called Corner Bet. This one enables you to place your bets across up to 4 squares or numbers to increase your chances of winning in an 8 to 1 ratio. Finally, a Line Bet in the game of roulette is when you can place your bets on a total of 6 numbers across 2 different rows.

The second batch of bets in the game of roulette is called the Outside Bet, which is spread all throughout the squares on the roulette table.

French Roulette

The French roulette is one of the most famous and considered as the best variant of this game. This one features the "En Prison" rule that involves winning half of your even money bet whenever zero is returned after each spin. This will therefore reduce the percentage of house advantage to about 1.35%. Another type of rule employed in the game of French roulette is called "La partage" rule that ensures players lose only half their bet although there is no option for them to leave that bet.

American Roulette

The game of American roulette is deemed as the worst variant of this game. The rules of this version are that there are 2 zeroes in the roulette table that will boost the house advantage to increase it up to 5.4%.
